FRIENDS  [CURRENT PHOTOS] INITIALLY POSTED 4/21/05  UPDATED

SAM FRIEDMAN AND HUNTER BEAR.  SAM IS A FINE FRIEND, GREAT POET, SOCIOLOGIST, AND LIFE LONG ACTIVIST WHO IS A NATIONAL AND GLOBAL LEADER IN THE AIDS NEEDLE MOVEMENT. AT HIS VISIT AT OUR PLACE,  POCATELLO, IDAHO  APRIL 19 AND 20, 2005  [UPDATED!]

[Sam Friedman, whose many fronts of vigorous activity involve, of course, our
several discussion lists, visited us for a couple of great days this
just-past April 19 and April 20.  He met everyone here -- me, Eldri, Maria,
Josie and Cameron, Thomas and Mimmie, and Samantha -- and our many animal
companions.  Long, meaningful visits occurred on these two rainy and snowy
days, punctuated by Eldri's fine cooking.  He appreciated the great view and
the scenery.  He, in turn, was appreciated by all -- including Cloudy who,
during the duration, essentially deserted me for him.  She spent a great
deal of time cuddling Sam and purring and once, when he went from our living
room into the kitchen, she followed him dutifully and happily.  Hunter Bear, 4/21/05]

UPDATE:  As my above photo indicates, I had -- at that time -- much weight!  This stemmed, from what was for a couple of years, Prednisone -- prescribed for me as my primary anti-Lupus [SLE] medicine.  Pred led to a hell of a weight gain and also diabetes.  When the Prednisone was reduced on a slow and steady basis, and replaced with Plaqenil, the diabetes disappeared and my weight returned to normal. No more Prednisone!

I am slightly over six feet, weigh two hundred pounds, and have size 17 feet. I still have SLE Lupus -- but my Vanity is nicely restored and intact.   Best, Hunter Bear

ALICE HATFIELD AZURE [UPPER RIGHT].  ALICE IS MI'KMAQ, A VERY OLD FRIEND AND FORMER STUDENT, AND A LONG-TIME COMMUNITY ACTIVIST.  HER FRIENDS ARE LILA, LOLA, AND DEBBY.  ALL OF THESE GOOD PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN SENDING ME THE FINE PORTRAIT OF ME, MICMAC MAN.

[Micmac Man has arrived and He's in great shape.  Couldn't be more
securely and comfortably packed.  Fine painting. [Photos, BTW, are
on the Tribute in a couple of places, along with Alice's very
interesting commentary.]  The painting arrived, via our Teamster
friend and UPS, at about 1:50 pm Mountain Time.  Best thing
that has happened for quite awhile and I [we] are greatly
honored.

Many thanks, Alice, to you and your Chicago colleagues.  Fine job.

Hunter Bear, 3/02/05]
