ON THE RIM OF SYCAMORE CANYON: AT OUR HUNTING CAMP [HUNTER GRAY/HUNTER BEAR POSTED FEBRUARY 15 2004]

My father and I at our hunting camp on the eastern rim of vast Sycamore Canyon -- well above the down-in region where I killed the huge black bear. I am holding the bear's skull -- cleansed of most meat. Dad is holding the old skull of a mule deer he had killed. Our ancient family wolf robe -- from the Moosehead Lake section of northern Maine, ca. 1865 -- can be seen between us.
