Judge Carl Guernsey was, as virtually all public officials of Mississippi at all levels were at that time, a conservative person indeed. Almost all of these had a very broad interpretation of "Communism." Carole Simms was at that time a Sociology professor at then all-White Millsaps College, Jackson. We had a very heated socio-political argument and he immediately rushed his interpretation to Judge Guernsey.
Following that is Attorney Watkins' typed memo of follow-up suggestions with regard to my File. As I've said, that compendium soon grew much, much larger indeed.
